World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the spread of a new coronavirus an international health crisis. The virus is a new type of coronavirus called COVID-19. It comes from Wuhan city in Hubei province. There is no evidence that the coronavirus we now see in the outbreak – COVID-19 – can infect pets.

Testing pets for COVID-19 is undesirable at this time because there is now no evidence that healthy and non-virus exposed animals should be tested for the virus. As a precautionary measure, it is prudent to keep pets away from infected people and to keep pets away from infected people.
Can Corona COVID-19 / SARS-CoV-2 infect my pet?
Currently, there is no evidence that COVID-19 can infect your pet. There is also no evidence that pets are a source of infection for people with COVID-19.
Should I avoid contact with pets if I am infected with the Coronavirus COVID-19?

There is no indication that dogs (or cats) can carry COVID-19. You can safely have your dog greet other dogs. There are a number of infectious diseases that are easily spread from dog to dog, including parvovirus and kennel cough. You can get your dog vaccinated against these diseases.
Can I let my cat outside?
Yes, you can safely let your cat outside. There is no evidence that COVID-19 can be transmitted to your cat or that your cat can transmit the virus to you.
